iPad doodle: frida’s nonillusion
December 26, 2010
A doodle inspired by images in Frida Kahlo’s diary, which is also the source of the quote: “lo que mas importa es la no ilusion” (what is most important is the non-illusion*).
I have been doodling much of the day, soothing myself, attempting to dismiss holiday stress.

Super cool. You should really pursue this genre.
thinking about it.
Far out! I like it.
thanks, dave!
OH, I do hope it helps with the stress
While Frida did work “small”, most of her canvases were bigger than the iPad, but the size of her diary pages is pretty close — if she where alive today, Frida Kahlo’s diary would be digital, don’t you think?
I agree, Frida would totally dig an iPad (I got one for Christmas! and am over the moon…well, almost; still have to go scatter my brother’s ashes and finish up his affairs and memorial this week out-of-province … but after that, then I’ll be over the moon, I just know it)
It’s a beautiful translation. (PS have you tried zendoodle? Google it! I think you might like it.)
Perfect! Absolutely.
Wonderful drawing. I think the combination of word and image will be one of the major forms of literary/artistic expression in the near term. Keep working it!
Drawing seems like a great way to soothe stress. I hope it worked! Your doodle is wild. I’ve been doing some comfort knitting–a rose-red cowl.
Carolee, that is a fabulous doodle – I must remember to follow your example: what a great way to ooze out the stress through moving fingers.
