POEM REMOVED FOR EDITING

///

Yes, I know this is indulgent. Like cake & ice cream. Sometimes, you just have to allow it.

    I know it’s unfair to warn you at the end of the poem, but this was started on my lunch break. Remember the terror of the lunch break poems? (Shiver!)

    And it’s fun and the imagery is wonderful. Happy, happy, young one!

    I had forgotten the lunch break poems, lol…

    I think there’s some really good stuff in here. And you are very young. And I am jealous.

      oh my goodness. thank you. i feel like we must be the same age, donna. i have no sense of those things.

      and thanks about the poem. i’m rusty. and weary. and out of touch with concrete things. not a fabulous combination for a poet!

    Indulge *all* of us. I like it.

    And I like cupcakes. I’d like to bake you some. And serve it with an adult beverage!

    Esp. like:
    room. Find out how much of yourself contracts into the stack/ of belongings at the bottom of the old stairs. Find out if you can

    What is said, the line breaks. All of it.

    There’s no reason you shouldn’t indulge on your 39th… I’ve been 39 for years and it’s worth it! Happy birthday!

    Happy birthday! The indulgence is well-deserved, and the poem well-received.

    If Art isn’t indulgent, what is it? & why bother, otherwise?
